A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other site preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

Cookies are not programs and cannot contain viruses or other malicious software. They are purely a string of text and numbers.

    Session cookies

  • Session cookies only last during a single visit. When you close your web browser the session cookie information is automatically removed from your computer.

  • Persistent cookies

  • Persistent cookies are stored by the user's web browser even when the web browser has been closed, so that the next time a user goes back to the website that originally set the cookie, the web site can read information back from the cookie.

Persistent cookies have an expiry date which controls when they are automatically deleted. This can be anything from a few minutes to several years, depending on your own browser settings.

Two session cookies are set that temporarily store a unique identifier for each visitor to the Site. This identifier is a random series of letters and numbers and doesn't contain any personal or identifiable information. It is used to help count the number of visitors and simultaneous users of our website.

Two cookies are set by the computer systems that run our website. These cookies are used as part of the process of sending web page content to the user's web browser and are essential for the proper functioning of the Site.

For example, you will not be able to login to your account if you have cookies disabled, as there will be no way to store your login session.

Persistent cookies set by Forma Essence online store

Forma Essence online store uses persistent cookies to remember which items you have placed in your shopping cart. By using a persistent cookie for this, a Customer can close their web browser and come back to the Site later and still be able to access items that had been put into their shopping cart on a previous visit. This cookie is essential for the functioning of the Forma Essence website. Without this cookie the shopping cart and its features will not function properly. The cookie lasts for 1 year, unless an order has been placed.

We also use a cookie to remember a user's settings and preferences such as preferred language, currency and delivery country. For example, when a logged-in user or guest sets their website preferences for the Site, these preferences are saved in a cookie set to last for 1 year. Without this cookie the customer would have to reenter their preferences every time they visit the website.

A number of persistent cookies are also set by the computers that host and run the Forma Essence website. These cookies are specialized and used only for recording technical information necessary for our web servers to work properly. No personally identifiable information is stored in these cookies.

Persistent cookies set by third-parties

Google Analytics is a popular service used by websites today to record information about website visitors. Google sets six different cookies with expiry dates ranging from 30 minutes to 2 years. These cookies are used mainly to differentiate between first time visitors to a website and returning visitors.

These cookies also allow us to monitor our website performance and help optimize it for our users. These cookies collect anonymous and not personally identifiable information. You can find out more about how Google use cookies at policies.google.com/privacy/update

Persistent cookies can also be set by other third-party widgets, like Facebook social log-ins and comments, social streams and feeds from Twitter and Instagram, YouTube videos and various content provided by third-party websites and embedded anywhere on Forma Essence website pages.

Please, refer to your account profile settings in the aforementioned third-party websites to check and set your Privacy preferences, as available.

Generally, you can clear your browser cookies and history from your browser menu, usually located in

Menu > History > Delete Recent History

From there you can choose to delete your session cookies and various browsing history.

You can set your browser to delete cookies each time you close it from your browser Privacy Settings. Refer to your browser user manual on how to change your privacy settings.

You can disable cookies altogether for all websites from your browser settings.

If you disable your browser cookies, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit our website and most our services and functionalities will not work.

You can also enable “Do Not Track” in your browser, to tell websites that you do not wish to receive third-party tracking cookies.

You can increase your privacy by tweaking your account settings in your third-party social profiles, to the extent of user control that is provided by the available settings.
